Chesapeake Sailing Charters
Chesapeake Sailing Charters may perform a check-out on the water before your departure. Chesapeake Sailing Charters reserves the right to assign a qualified captain at your expense if it is found that you are operating the boat irresponsibly or negligently or if you are unable to operate the boat safely and competently.
A refundable security deposit of $500 is required in the form of credit card or cash prior to departure.
Customers are required to have unlimited towing coverage for costs related to towing the boat back to shore. Here are some area companies that can assist in towing and other water emergencies:
Reservation Deposits and Cancellations
Captains must complete a sailing experience resume and submit it for review and approval by Chesapeake Sailing Charters (CSC). Click on Sailing Resume to access the form.

50% of the charter fee is due on signing your contract. If a charter is cancelled 30 days or more before the departure date, there will be a $100 charge. Cancellations made 30 days or less before the charter will result in forfeiture of the deposit. The balance of the charter payment is due on boarding. Payments can be made in cash, check or VISA, MasterCard or American Express.
